How to Avoid Ghosting Effect in Sublimation Transfer Printing?

Currently, the sublimation printing heat transfer technology used in commercialization and industrialization and polyester clothes is mostly thermal sublimation transfer printing technology. For its low costs, sublimation printing comes to the market and becomes popular as soon as possible. The application field of dye-sublimation transfer technology has become more and more extensive. As a sublimation veteran, you may meet some tiny printing problems as transfer blurry, faded and crack with your increasing working experience. Don't fell frustrated. Actually, it's an inevitable thing that everyone are probably to go through the tough period. Many new sublimation comer will feel unconfident and have no idea about how to deal with it. This article helps you summize the ways to solve these problems.

Why isn't the printing color bright?

There are various factors that lead to this situation. Then how to avoid this problem? Firstly, you should make sure that you print the patterns on the bright side of the sublimation paper, because the other side is totally off-white. Then put the bright white side face down the machine. secondly, it's the fabric, and it's relied on the composition of your fabric. To some extent, the cotton will have bad transfer effect. The higher the cotton content, the worse the color brightness represents. Then The lower cotton cotten, the better transfer effect. If this is not the fabric, it is the problem of paper type. It is recommended to use special type of quick-dry sublimation paper, so that the color restoration has high color degree. If ordinary paper is used, the effect will be poor!

Image Ghosting Effect in Thermal Sublimation Transfer Printing

The fabric printed by thermal sublimation transfer printing technology has exquisite patterns, bright colors, clear layers, high artistry and strong three-dimensional sense, which is difficult to achieve by general printing methods. It can also print patterns in photography and painting style. Sometimes, you will find the edge of the image is blurry and a little deviation to its original place, which is called ghosting effect. It's a normal phenomenon that appears at the beginning or ending of the heat transfer process. The sublimation transfer process demands the temperature  in the range of 180 ℃ ~ 230 ℃ for about 10 ~ 30 seconds, and  be careful with transfer time and presure. Pressure is another vital indicator of heat sublimation transfer process.

For instance, if the pressure is low, the space between fabric and transfer paper is big, the yarn is toroid, and a large number of ink gas molecules collide with air, which will lead to poor printing effect.

What Are the Reasons to Cause it?

Ink is also easy to seep, the lines become thicker so that the patterns and patterns are blurred, and the visual effect becomes worse; If the pressure is appropriate, the yarn is flat, and the gap between the fabric and the transfer paper is appropriate, the transfer coloring effect is good, the pattern is clear, and lines are smooth and fine.
If the pressure is too high, it is easy to cause problems, such as deformation, fuzzing and morphological changes of heavy fabrics, resulting in rough and hard feel and coloring on the surface. Therefore, controlling the transfer pressure is very important for printing patterns, clear patterns and visual effects.

Besides sublimation ink, transfer time and temperature will also influence transfer effects, there are some things we need to attention when we do sublimation printing.

The first is the selection of transfer paper. Suppliers with stable quality and high reputation are the first choice for printing enterprises. In this regard, Sublistar has become the first choice for many enterprises, and its reputation is obvious to all:

Secondly, we should be aware that the color of the dye ink before transfer (the pattern on the transfer paper before heating and pressurization) and after transfer (the pattern transferred to the fabric) is very different. Generally, the dye ink looks dark and dull before transfer, and the true color is restored by high temperature of about 200 ℃.

Finally, during thermal transfer, it is necessary to ensure that the hot pressing surface, transfer paper and substrate surface are closely attached without gaps, otherwise, the transfer image and text may be blurred.
The biggest merits of dye sublimation transfer is that the dye can infiltration into the fiber. When touch the transferred fabric, you feel the texture are soft and comfortable. Besides, the ink layer won't be as obvious as other printing products, like screen printing. Moreover, the life of the pattern and images will last forever due to its sublimation process. At the same time, you don't need to worry about the problem of crack to affect the quality of the fabric.
